"The Fourth of July fireworks literally bring thousands of visitors and locals alike to the lake for a spectacular display after dark," said Lee. "There are events every month of the year, but my favorites are Octoberfest with polka dancing and German foods and Christmas with Dickens characters strolling through the snow, singing carols."
SWIMMING, FISHING:Shore fishing; rowboat rental; swimming beach; waterslide (909) 338-2233
"Beautiful Lake Gregory has a wonderful, well-maintained sandy beach and is life-guarded from Memorial Day through Labor Day," said Lee. You'll meet lots of locals and visitors, walking their dogs, jogging or stopping to feed the wild ducks and geese. There's a 10K run around the Lake every August and a fishing derby for kids in the summertime." PICNIC & CAMP GROUNDS:(909) 337-2444
"There are many rest-picnic areas throughout the mountains," said Lee, "but my favorites are Baylis Park on Highway 18 just East of the Cliffhanger Restaurant and Crest Park on Highway 18 near the intersection of Highway 173. Restrooms, barbeques and picnic tables are furnished; walk to the edge of the mountain and enjoy the view! Stop by the Forestry Service facility and pick up trail maps and information." I also go to the musical plays at this theater, only 20-30 minutes from our mountain home." BOWLING:Lake Drive, Lake Gregory (909) 338-BOWL
